From first smile, and brief hello to George, near the bridge on the Mab Lane woodland we quickly became friends. Meeting almost every day, by chance, along the river and in the lanes to chat about the blessings of nature around us, the love of our families, the environment, trees we each planted, politics – often with strong debate, science, music, our much loved dogs Poppy and Gypsy and our concerns for their welfare. We loved our chats, and sometimes deep, philosophising together. George, though keen to express his own points of view, was always a gentle, thoughtful soul a good listener, and a kind and interesting man. We’ve held him in our prayers these past months and will continue to do so. We wish him ‘Good Speed’ on his spiritual journey.
